The pictures bring the everyday life of people in Adjumani before us. They not only provide a view of the social conditions, but also portraits of people, especially girls and women, in their familiar social environment.

The photographic documentation was created as a part of the educational project “Eine Schultüte voll Möglichkeiten (A schoolbag full of possibilities), which Trixiewiz e.V., in cooperation with MACI, has organized since 2004.

The project seeks to initiate a learning process in Uganda as well as in Germany, that opposes the patriarchal foreign aid beliefs and the hegemonic euro-centric conceptions by encouraging reflective thinking about our own environments.
