Home > Allgemein > TAHADDI – Empowering refugee women* and creating networks of solidarity

The project aims to strengthen women* with experiences of flight or migration of all ages. We wish to create a room for an open exchange on topics such as gender-specific violence, sexuality and gender equality therefore enhancing the networks of solidarity between women* living in refugee camps.

Through workshops, (self-)empowerment and open group meetings we will:

  • create a space where trust can be build and the participants* of the workshop are supported in order to  express their needs. This could serve as the basis to create a self-help group , where women*  of diverse cultural and religious backgrounds can support each other and interact.
  • adapted to the concrete needs of the women* we will discuss topics such as women*’s health, sexuality, concepts of protection against violence, as well as strategies to protect the women*’s individual rights. Furthermore we will transmit information on organizations that provide support and councelling on different topics.

The workshops will take place in the refugee camps as well as in our office space. The meetings will be led by a group of experts*/ trainers* with experiences of flight and/or migration and with a variety of professional and language skills (albanian, arabic, english, farsi, french, italian and tigrinya). These trainers* are in an unique position , as they can pass on their own experiences about arriving in Germany to the participants* of the workshops.
