Strengthening through participation: a series of seminars on self-empowerment and independence with refugee women_migrants *
The project aims to strengthen, actively participate in society and promote new and existing skills, as well as refugee women * and migrants * from different backgrounds, to expand their options for taking action in this society.
In 2019 we will deal with the topics about active political participation, self-empowerment and social networking of and with migrated _ refugee women` *.
Migrants and refugee women, despite difficult access and disadvantages in political social status, have always had a great influence on shaping this society.
In the diverse series of seminars, the various political participation options as well as how to deal with obstacles, such as discrimination, are discussed and even less well-known political participation options are highlighted.
The 4th and last date of empowerment through participation: a series of seminars on empowerment and political participation by and with women refugees * takes place on December 13, 2019, + December 14, 2019, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Helle Panke e.V.
We deal with the topic of community philosophy – a free-thinking space to reflect on our experience with concepts such as “refugees”, “people”, “rights” and “freedom”. No special requirement is necessary, except for the desire to exchange ideas!
Community philosophy arises in protected, free spaces of thought, in which concepts and practices of freedom are reflected, experimented, learned, and practiced. We take the necessary time and the appropriate space to discuss our everyday experiences, life situation, options for taking action, traditions and understandings of e.g., thinking about “identity”, “(human) law”, “religion” and “politics” in order to articulate and explain, defend or criticize them in words, gestures, movements, and figures. Community philosophy does not require a philosophical education because it is based on the belief in universal human intelligence. “All people are intellectuals”, said the Italian philosopher and communist Antonio Gramsci at the end of the 19th century … but even that can be questioned and discussed in our workshop on community philosophy.

The 3rd and 4th dates of the seminar series “Strengthening through participation” will take place on October 15 and 16, 2018 in the barrier-free rooms of the Kultur Markt Halle and on November 26 and 27, 2018 in the conference work at KuBiZ. On these two days, refugee women * _migrants can take specific steps in their professional path_to_orientation in Germany, for example:
-the creation of a tabular CV
– Application advice
– Clarification of questions regarding working hours
-Exercises for body language / creating application photos
The seminar will be accompanied by a professional advisor for women with many years of experience * and a lawyer experienced in access to the German labor market.

The seminar leaders * with refugee and migration histories have years of experience in pedagogical support for adults on topics such as migration, sexism discrimination, and self-empowerment.
